Il Palagio: Sting's Tuscan Dream
This morning started like many others - an early delivery to Il Palagio, the stunning estate owned by Sting and Trudie Styler. I stopped at my usual spot for colazione: a perfect espresso and a warm cornetto, the kind of simple ritual that makes every Tuscan morning feel special.
My morning ritual: espresso and cornetto before the day begins
The drive from Abbadia di Montepulciano to Figline Valdarno is one of my favorites. The route takes you through the heart of Tuscany, passing the medieval towers of San Gimignano in the distance and winding through the Chianti hills. Along the way, don't miss the Abbey of Passignano - a thousand-year-old monastery surrounded by vineyards - and the charming town of Greve in Chianti, perfect for a quick stop at the market square.

Il Palagio is set above the picturesque Tuscan town of Figline Valdarno. It has been the summer home for Sting and Trudie's growing family for over two decades, and the setting for many of their intimate parties, private concerts and anniversaries. The villa, its guesthouses, vineyards and olive groves have all been lovingly restored by Sting and Trudie, and it is now a vibrant and fully functioning organic farm and vineyard.
What strikes me most about this place is how it perfectly balances celebrity glamour with authentic Tuscan agricultural tradition. It's not just a showpiece - it's a working farm where the land is respected and the craft of winemaking is taken seriously. Every time I make a delivery here, I'm reminded that true luxury isn't about extravagance, but about quality, authenticity, and a deep connection to the land.

A Working Estate
With acres of fertile Tuscan land and a dedicated team of growers, makers and artisans, Il Palagio produces a wide range of exceptional goods. From organic wines and cold-pressed, award-winning olive oil to estate-made honey, seasonal vegetables and handmade preserves, everything is rooted in the rhythms of the land and crafted with care.
Walking past the production area, I'm always struck by the sight of gleaming stainless steel tanks framed by ancient stone arches - a beautiful marriage of modern winemaking technology and Renaissance architecture. The contrast is stunning: centuries-old stone walls housing state-of-the-art equipment, tradition embracing innovation without losing its soul.

A Moment of Spring Magic
Spring days like this are what make Tuscany magical - the air is perfumed with blossoms, the sun is warm but not yet intense, and everything feels alive with possibility.
A quiet moment beneath the blooming almond trees
If I were to associate the beauty of the moment with a wine, now, at the beginning of March, I would choose a Vermentino. Baci Sulla Bocca is one of the wines made right here at Sting and Trudie's winery and will delight your senses with its floral notes, in complete harmony with the landscape.
Sometimes the best part of this job isn't the destination, but these stolen moments of beauty along the way. Sitting there, surrounded by blooming trees and the gentle Tuscan landscape, I was reminded why I love what I do. Every delivery is an opportunity to discover something new, to appreciate the artistry and passion that goes into every bottle, every olive, every product that comes from this remarkable land.
